Q: Can I backup different files or folders from several hard disk volumes?
A: Yes, you can place several root folders from different hard disk volumes into
one backup project.
Q: How can I exclude some files or folders from backup?
A: To exclude files use "Exclude files" tab in root or subfolder
properties and add excluded filemasks.
For exclude entire folder: select it in folders tree and
check "Tune this folder", on tab "Include files" click
button "Disable".
Q: Is it possible to backup files which open with other programs?
A: Yes, open folder property, check "Enable archive open file" for
each include file mask and on tab "Default options".
Note: some files are not accessible even for reading.
Such files can't be backed up.
Q: Can I backup only subfolders from root folder?
A: Yes, on root folder property - click button "Disable" on tab
"Include files". For each required subfolder: select it in folders tree and
check "Tune this folder", on tab "Include files" click
button "Selected" or "All". All options similar root folder.
Q: Can this program do full restore of operating system to empty hard
disk?
A: This version can't do it. It can restore files after Windows is installed on
hard drive.
Q: Can DFIncBackup run as a service on Windows NT/2000/XP?
A: This version work as an application. This feature is planned for future versions.
Q: How I can extract files from archive without DFIncBackup?
A: Use any ZIP archive extractor for extract files, for example WinZip.
Windows XP, 2003 and Vista work with zip archives directly.
